LETS VISIT:
FAIRHOPE ARTS FESTIVAL,  MARCH 19 - 21, Friday thru Sunday,  downtown Fairhope Alabama.  I usually have a booth at the main intersection of Section Street and Fairhope Ave, and I hope to see you and show the latest paintings.   It's a very large show, so wear comfy shoes and consider using the shuttle from the main highway.   www.eschamber.com/artscrafts 

SOUTHEASTERN PLEIN AIR FESTIVAL,  Gadsden Al.   the first week of May - all over Gadsden you can watch painters on location painting the historic homes section, Noccalula Falls, the Coosa River, the Strawberry Harvest, and downtown Gadsden on First Friday featuring antique cars.   May 4-7, there will be various excursions to scenic locations in the Gadsden area: Historic Homes & Gardens, Noccalula Falls, Working Farms, Downtown Gadsden, on the banks of Coosa River. Later that evening, on May 7th, there will be a Wet Paint Auction. The Plein Air exhibit will run until June 4th with an auction taking place that evening.  Many paintings will be available to you at auction on "First Friday", June 4 about 5pm.  Come see!   www.gadsdenmuseum.com

OIL PAINTING CLASSES - "PAINTING YOUR VISION"

For beginner to intermediate levels
Mondays - 9:30 am till ???

when:  February 8,  March 8, April 5, May 10, June 14
previous class themes:
 emphasis on composition, and tweaking an almost finished  painting!,  palette knife work,  small paintings ( think gifts),  palette knife and focus on brushwork,  "using only the three primary colors: red, yellow and blue",  "skys and brushwork",    "Painting with the wrong end of the brush",   small painting - from life - BIG impact, 
"magic ingredients in your paintings- glazing and negative space"

  learning to "see" is the essence of painting.  we will learn classic principles by working from life or your photos.

we learn : mixing the color you want, learning to see in values, the difference in drawing and painting, and getting familiar with application.  Just lots of basic information with demonstration paintings and time to help with your painting.  I will send my suggested supply list when you sign up.    I look forward to painting with you!   I will plan a personal one-on-one class to get you started.
